Moonit Goes Live

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

My friends and I love using astrology to explain the way people act.  You’ll always hear one of us say, “she’s the life of the party, she’s a typical Gemini” or “he’s so arrogant yet so attractive, is he by any chance an Aquarius?”.  I’ll admit though, that I’ve always been a little skeptical of how ALL people of the same sun sign can embody the same characteristics?  Moonit, the new site launched by eROI last week, gets way more specific with it.  By using the year, day and even time someone was born, Moonit breaks your relationships down for so you can do as they say and  “take control of your own destiny”.  So how does it work?  The folks at Moonit explain that they use “thousands of years of data from the stars to help determine whether two people are compatible from a romantic, platonic and professional perspective.”

Using Moonit is simple.  You login, pick the type of relationship you are testing and enter all of the birthday data you can remember.  The best part is if you are totally clueless about the other person’s info, Moonit can access all of that information directly from your contacts on Facebook.

Moonit calculates your compatibility and hooks you up with some tips on how to handle your relationship with that person.  Your results are then stored in your relationship profile along with all of the results from past readings.

compatibility

This profile also allows you to track your relationships as things take shape, complete with a chart of the ups and downs of your time together.  This can serve as your own personal, online relationship journal.  Of course there’s always the very ‘09 option of sharing your thoughts about your relationship with the Facebook or Twitter world.

If you have a burning relationship question or if you’re like me and love to help others solve their problems, visit The Couch section of Moonit.  The site’s resident Psychologist Dr. Block gives his opinion on the issue at hand and the rest is up to the Mooniverse.  Questions about anything involving relationships; be it office flings, jealous friends, or cheating are answered by your peers from around the world.

And of course, what fun would it be without the ability to dissect the readings of our favorite celebs and celeb couples?  Moonit uses their data to explain the lives of those celebrities and then leaves it to you to give your input.  It’s definitely interesting to see what the stars have to say about Kanye’s recent meltdown at the VMAs.

I’ve got to admit it’s pretty addictive and I’m definitely not the only one out there who would suggest you try mooning someone.  Check out all the recent press its been getting:

Subway Sandwich Builder

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

Last year we partnered with Gomobo to create the Subway Sandwich Builder. They recently made this video to showcase the functionality and overall ux. This one of my favorite eROI executions. They came to us with an idea and we delivered an experience. Gomobo wanted us to recreate the “in store” environment while utilizing their sweet back-end ordering system. The result is undeniable. Mad ups to Noel and Verity for bringing this vision to life.

CBS Watch plug…

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

I am super excited to report that on Friday eROI officially partnered with CBS Watch Magazine to redesign their website. The team at CBS Watch is great and we have been working for months to get this through. After a couple of smaller projects under our belt we are ready to dive into redesign.
This is a huge win for eROI as this website is highly visible and is being promoted on CBS TV programming. The design will be killer. Check out the plug on National TV:

The Rebirth of Slick

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I am so excited to announce the launch of www.eroinyc.com! I hope to document eROI’s journey in New York and provide my insights on campaigns, emails, art, websites, NY life and whatever else comes along in this great city. Thanks to all who helped with the relaunch!

I’ve worked on tons of websites and campaigns but hardly ever on client side. It was an interesting point of view and further proved how sweet the team is. Thanks to Tom and Julie for all their hard work!

And now….The Rebirth of Slick:

1st Annual eROI CBS Fantasy Draft

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Hey Nation,
If you haven’t heard by now eROI works with CBS Sports on their email campaigns from both a creative and development perspective. That partnership is one of my most valuable for several reasons…1. They are intelligent clients. The whole CBS team gets it and are very easy to work with. 2. The value our expertise and show it. 3. Its an organic relationship that grew from conversation and engagement. Those connections rock and are super motivating because you are working REAL people doing GREAT work.
As our relationship grows we need to learn more about their business and how it runs so we recently set up a eROI Fantasy League brought to us by CBS Sports. Tonight is the first annual draft. I was stoked as a ton of people wanted to participate…for some this is their first time. This is certainly my first time being a “commissioner” but I am diving in. It will give me a first hand account of the action.

Good Luck to my ballers who signed up….hike!

What is Viral?

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Hey Nation…..
I wanted to spend some time today to talk about the term VIRAL. What does it really mean?
I recently went to an OMMA conference where guest speakers spent an hour or so commenting on what it means. Here are some blurbs:

“Viral is result of content hitting critical mass.”
“Something is viral if it runs on its own.”
“Viral occurs when you lose control of the content.”

I am not sure what the right answer is, but from my perspective something isn’t immediately “viral”, it must become that way. The millions and millions of forwarded videos and pictures all have there place in the viral hall of fame. I guess viral is on the brain as we recently completed a cool campaign for The Dessy Group that features an animation video done by the Vancouver Film School. The goals for this were simple…add an aspect of fun into a very dry industry, drive traffic to dessy.com, and build their email list. Since its launch we have had about 6000 visitors to the site. So you be the judge…is this viral?
