Name that NYC band….
Sunday, April 12th, 2009Since moving to NYC there has been somewhat of vacancy with regards to my musical outlets. I suppose that I get my fill of creative expression at work or other projects but there is a certain thing I miss from playing music with good musicians. Its probably the volume. Nevertheless my lack of music playing manifests its self in different ways….
A lot of my bar time is devoted to brainstorming what my new band will sound like or what it will be named. At a recent 3 hour stint at my neighborhood bar The Snug on 9th Ave I sat and I posed to the question to my bar fellows “What would a band that plays reggae/funk/hip hop be called?”
Here are the results. Not bad…but nothing that sticks. Give it your best shot. I will be gathering ideas for the next few weeks and will put the finalists up for a voting….and yes these are scans of bar napkins.
